The Narayani River flows to the west of the Chitwan district and the Lothar River flows to the east, dividing the district into right and left. Similarly, the Rapti River buggy is surrounded on three sides by the river flowing from east to west from the southern part. The plains to the south of the district are also known as the Rapti Valley. The southernmost mountain range of the Chure range, Someshwar Danda, forms the international border between Nepal and India and also encircles Chitwan.
